Scottish City Breaks

Enjoy a Scottish City Break!

It’s true that we love bagpipes, tartan and Tunnock's Teacakes, but don’t be mistaken – our wee country’s cultural gems extend much further than these famous icons.

Our capital city plays host to the world’s largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Glasgow was crowned ‘The world’s friendliest city’ by Time Out this year and is Scotland’s cultural hub, famous for its thriving music scene and home to the Style Mile for those keen on shopping. Stirling is Braveheart country! Visit the castle on its crag and, a short distance away, discover the Battle of Bannockburn or the newly-refurbished Wallace monument with its stunning views across Scotland’s central belt. Stay in Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, and try to catch sight of the infamous Nessie, explore the mighty medieval stronghold of Urquhart Castle (the third most visited castle in Scotland) or go dolphin-watching off the Black Isle.

With a variety of bars and restaurants in every city, you’ll never be short of delicious things to eat and drink.

Stay with us and get a true taste of Scottish city life.

Worth noting: From 24 July 2026, the Edinburgh City Visitor Levy will apply to all overnight stays. The levy is charged on arrival and applies to stays up to 5 consecutive nights. If you stay longer than 5 days, no levy is applied from the 6th night onwards. The charge is not payable on cancellations or no-shows.

The levy is designed to support Edinburgh’s visitor services and local economy, helping the city to remain a world-class destination for all.
