About About this youth hostel
Set amidst stunning mountains, at the halfway point on the West Highland Way, Crianlarich Youth Hostel is a great base for outdoor enthusiasts and for exploring the northern area of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
This warm and welcoming hostel offers a wide range of private rooms and shared dorms, two of which are en-suite. WiFi is free for all guests and other facilities include: male and female washrooms, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, comfortable lounge with TV, drying room and a secure bike store. Basic provisions, confectionery and soft drinks are available to purchase at reception.
There are good bus and rail links as well as free onsite parking.
Crainlarich is a dog-friendly hostel. If you would like to book yourself and your dog into the hostel, please phone the hostel direct on +44 (0) 1838 300 260 to check availability. There is a small charge of £7.50 per night for your dog when staying in our hostels.
‘Wee Breakfast’ and 'Heat it and eat it' evening meals available (please remember to pre-book your breakfast).
The hostel is also available for exclusive private rental.

Just over an hour's drive from Stirling and set amidst stunning mountain scenery, the village of Crianlarich is an important staging post on various transport routes linking central and northwestern Scotland.
Located in Glen Strathfillan to the north of the Trossachs it's eight miles north of the head of Loch Lomond and a popular destination for walkers and cyclists looking to explore and discover the natural beauty of the northern area of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Popular attractions in the local area include:
- Ben Lui Nature Reserve
- Falls of Falloch
- An Caisteal and Beinn a'Chroin, two Munros with rewarding ridge walking and stunning views across a wide expanse, from Loch Lomond to Ben Nevis
- For a more gentle alternative the Crianlarich Community Wood circuit is a short walk with fine views over the surrounding countryside
- The bustling and picturesque town of Callander on the River Teith
