It's wonderful that there are still some places like youth hostels where you can just spend a night or two in a brilliant location and have all the facilities available. Great kitchen and lounge. And fabulous view of the harbour!Marion

Reasons to visit
Ullapool is one of the prettiest fishing villages in the Highlands and has a plentiful supply of local restaurants and bars, a leisure centre, swimming pool, museum and theatre. It's easy to spend time in this vibrant Highland community with regular music nights, festivals, cultural and arts events. A host of activities are available in the local area - ask our team for advice.
Ullapool Youth Hostel sits on the famous North Coast 500 and provides an excellent base for exploring the North West Highlands with its iconic mountain scenery, beaches, sea lochs and islands. Ferries leave daily for Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and there are cruises to visit the Summer Isles.
Established by two local lassies in 2016, the Seafood Shack is well worth a visit for a high quality local takeaway, freshly caught and landed by local fishermen.
Other attractions worth exploring include:
- Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve
- Corrieshalloch Gorge
- The Bone Caves
- Stac Pollaidh mountain
- Ullapool Hill
A very special view of Scotland
